182 - Amy Downs ”The OKC bombing was just the beginning”
Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
On today's episode, Alan is joined by Amy Downs. Amy is an Oklahoma City Bombing Survivor, Credit Union CEO and Motivational Speaker.
Alan and Amy have a powerful conversation and Amy shares her incredible story of what the Oklahoma City Bombing was like firsthand and how her life changed from that moment on.
About Amy
Amy Downs was one of the last survivors to be pulled from the rubble of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing in which a total of 168 people were killed including 18 of her 33 co-workers. While buried alive and waiting to die, she realized she had never really lived. Once freed from the rubble, Downs promised God she would never live her life the same.
She began her career as a teller 32 years ago working for Federal Employees Credit Union located in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. At the time of the bombing, Downs was a credit card loan officer who flunked out of college and weighed more than 350 pounds.
In the coming years, she’d not only lose 200 pounds, but become a triathlete—and even compete in an Ironman Triathlon. She’d not only go back to school, but she’d graduate with a Masters of Business Administration. She’d not only get promoted by Federal Employees Credit Union (who would soon change their name to Allegiance Credit Union) but she eventually became its CEO—an award winning CEO, no less. She didn’t just fulfill her promise, she literally ran laps around it.
For nearly twenty years, Amy has been an inspirational subject in national and local media for her survival of the Alfred P. Murrah Building bombing, the deadliest domestic terror attack in our nation’s history. Amy now shares a message more powerful than her survival: her transformation in the aftermath. Her inspirational story of triumphant transformation through evil is a keynote message that will leave the audience feeling inspired and open to growth.

179 - StoreHouse ” How To fund the dream God gave me”
Thursday Mar 04, 2021
Thursday Mar 04, 2021
Each one of us has some idea or dream that we long to make a reality but sadly many of us never pursue them. There are many reasons, but chief among them is often something like this "I don't have support, or a way to get it off the ground. No one knows me."
Some of the greatest creatives and innovators of our time started with nothing more than a dream, garage, and some pocket lint yet they were able to bring their creative dreams to life.
But where do you go as a Kingdom Creative?
Alan talks with Casey Casamento, founder of the new crowdsourcing platform Storehouse about huge online opportunities and how our missionary heart and business mind must intersect
About Casey
Hi! My name is Casey Casamento, and I’m the founder of Storehouse. I am so excited that you have found your way to the Storehouse community! We really believe that God is building a community of Kingdom creatives and influencers to pursue their creative callings while bringing beauty and truth to our dark and confused world.
I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and have heard too many Wizard of Oz comments over the years. For the record, I have endured a tornado once. I am living my dream being married to my high school sweetheart, Amy. But that almost didn’t happen. Our story is filled with twists and turns, and includes God miraculously moving to bring us back together. We’ll share that with you another time. We’re called Mom and Dad to four human beings that bring incredible joy to our lives.
A few other random thoughts about me. I believe futbol is the real football. I could eat Mexican food every day. I have a Ph.D. but sometimes forget that I do. I have traveled to six countries on three different continents and am deeply curious about others’ cultures. I scream “Rock Chalk” during college basketball season and can’t believe that I witnessed the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Superbowl.
About StoreHouse
We love inspiring people to courageously create, communicate and cultivate for greater Kingdom impact. Our platform enables new revenue streams for Kingdom creators to achieve greater Kingdom impact.

Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Time for a reality check.
WHO you are matters more than WHAT you do.
That may be tough to hear, but it's the healthy truth. It's easy to get caught up in the things we do and allow them to become our identity. What we do matters but who we are is matters way more.
On today's episode, Alan gets very practical as he unpacks and explains why who we are matters more than anything else.

176 - Charles Mully ”Changing the world one child at a time”
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
Tuesday Feb 23, 2021
We have a powerful episode for you today. Now, we don't toss the word hero around lightly but today we have the honor of sitting down with a truly incredible human being, a hero with an incredible story.
On Today's episode, Alan sits down with real life hero Charles Mully, the Hero in the documentary, Mully, about the amazing story of his life and his journey from an abandoned street kid in Kenya to prominence and prosperity, and to caring for thousands of abandoned children by starting the Mully Childrens Family.
Whatever you do today, spend 30 minutes with this episode and share it with others.
About Charles Mully
Charles Mulli was the firstborn son of a poverty-stricken Kenyan family of ten children. By age 6 he was abandoned by his parents to live on the streets for the next 12 years. Through diligence, hard work, and faith, Charles rose to become a very successful businessman. He, his wife Esther, and their eight children lived very comfortably as Charles became a multi-millionaire.
In 1986, Charles began to hear a call on his life to care for the thousands of abandoned children he encountered on the streets of Kenya, especially as he remembered his own struggles there as a child. In 1989, Charles and Esther began to take street orphans and vulnerable children into their home to be raised alongside their own biological children. Those numbers grew so that over the last 30 years, the Mully Family has given their entire lives and considerable fortune to rescue, adopt, house, feed, clothe, and educate well over 13,000 Kenyan orphans who have graduated from the program as well as an additional 3,500 in the program currently.
Additionally, Mully Children’s Family (MCF) is the #1 employer, the sole source of clean water, and the main source of healthcare for the Ndalani and Kithimani Divisions in the Yatta District in which MCF resides. They have provided free education and a daily lunch for over 1,000 children in five other locations. During the 2007 post-election violence, MCF provided daily hot food for over 7,000 children in the camp and food rations for 20,000 displaced persons at the Eldoret IDP Camp as well as education for the children there.

On today's episode, Alan has a great conversation with Pastor, Author, and O.G podcast guest Daniel Fusco about his new book Crazy Happy: Nine Surprising Ways to Live the Truly Beautiful Life and how Daniel would beat The Rock in a fight.
