We hope you're enjoying our summer RE: podcast series. Each week we're bringing you on a guded journey to reinvest, rediscover, and reimagine your life and leadership so that you can continue to get healthy and reach sustainable impact.
On today's BONUS episode, Alan has a great conversation with pastor author, and podcaster Jon Peacock about his new book Giant Killer; Winning The Battles That Matter Most.
About Jon
In 2010 a few friends and I set out on the journey to plant what is known today as Mission Church. The journey of leading and learning is one I want to continue for the rest of my life. From starting with 20 friends in my living room to now leading thousands, we’ve come a long way but we still have miles to go. I spend most of my time raising daughters, loving my wife, walking my dog, encouraging our staff, envisioning our people, and cooking for my neighbors on my Big Green Egg. I’m a regular guy who’s been captivated by a Redefining Church vision. I know where God has called me to go and stay; the neighborhood. I have the joy of leading alongside my bestie, Tommy Bowman. Check out his website to learn a whole lot more about what we mean by “redefining church”.
Join me as I join Jesus on the greatest adventure of a lifetime..."next door as it is in Heaven".

The tension of the past and present is something we all navigate in our life and leadership. It's easy to be so forward focused that we lose sight of important facets of our lives and leadership and leave things behind that we need as we move forward. On the flip side, we can also hold on to things from our past that are no longer useful or beneficial. So what do you do?
Join us as Alan and Jonathan guide you through part 2 of our summer series as we address the topic of reinventing. On this episode you'll be guided through a process of looking back at things you need to return to, things you need to let go of, and how to reinvent important areas of your life and leadership as you look ahead.

This is the last podcast that will feel like our other 300 plus episodes for a while.
We've been cooking up a summer podcast series for over a year now. We’re really excited about it because it’s different than anything we’ve ever done. It is a risk for us, but we take risks when we know that you guys need something else.
You don't just need more information. You don't just need more good interviews. Although our interviews are great. Go back to our last episode and you'll hear some of our favorite highlights.
We believe that you need an encounter and an experience with the living. God, we believe that there are some things that you need to reengage in your life and in your leadership and in your family.
We also know it’s summer and summer brings travel, adventure, and experiences with different people, places, and spaces.
And that’s where this interactive podcast series fits. We created it to accompany you as you spend time outside, on the road, or at the beach.
Maybe you run, maybe you hike. Maybe it's time to just get back out in creation and sit on a rock or go lay in the woods in a hammock.
So this is the intro of a summer podcast experience. That's right. A podcast experience, not just information.
As a whole, we've all navigated tons of change. Change is always happening. Change is disorienting. The goal is really to help people take in the summer months, to slow down so that they can speed up in the fall.

305 - Steve Cuss ”understanding the types of anxiety leaders carry”
Tuesday May 24, 2022
Tuesday May 24, 2022
Once a month we host coaching calls for high capacity leaders in our Right Side Up Collective, a private community of like minded investing in their leadership in a way you wont find anywhere else.
This months coaching call featured leadership and anxiety expert Steve Cuss. Steve unpacked the common types of anxiety leaders often carry, how to identify them in yourself and others, and how to take steps to reducing the anxiety we carry.
This conversation is ripe with application and we wanted to share it with our podcast listeners.
About Steve
I cut my teeth on leadership anxiety when I served as a chaplain at a level one trauma hospital. The hospital sent us into every conceivable human experience and we had nothing but our wits and the presence of God to get us through. In that baptism of fire, I learned how to pay attention to what was going on under the surface of my own life, and also the dynamics between family members. I was steeped in family systems theory and then later studied cybernetics in graduate school. My unique experience and training deepened my leadership capacity to mange anxiety and notice it in groups.
Since 2005, I have served as Lead Pastor of Discovery Christian Church in Broomfield, Colorado, an innovative and entrepreneurial church that has grown from 150 to more than 1000 in weekly attendance. The church intentionally welcomes spiritual seekers and skeptics and is passionate about partnerships that break the local and global poverty cycle. I have also served at a mega church in Las Vegas, on a ranch for teens struggling with life issues, and as a youth minister in the Appalachian region.
I was privileged to grow up in Perth, Western Australia, in an adventurous family of origin. After moving to the United States for theological study, I married Lisa and together we have two sons and a daughter, in whom I take great delight. When I am not working, you can find me laughing with my family, knee-deep in a trout stream, or trying a guitar I cannot afford at a local music store.
